Niagara University Presenting Summer STEM Camps for Children

Niagara University’s College of Education is once again offering summer camps intended to engage young people in the practical application of science, technology, engineering and math.

Sponsored by National Grid, the camps being offered this year include:

  • A camp for children ages 5-7 will focus on introducing children to STEM activities and developing critical thinking skills. The dates are July 23-26 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Registration is $55.
  • Grades 3-8: July 23-26, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The cost is $120.
  • Young Women’s Camp (grades 6-9): July 30-Aug. 2, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The cost is $120.

The camps will focus on electricity, energy, and engineering, all in content and in college and career readiness activities. Emphasis in the Young Women’s Camp will also be placed on personal development, etiquette and leadership.

The registration fee covers camp materials, lunch, and snacks. Transportation to NU is not provided.

All activities will be aligned to the New York State Learning, Common Core, College and Career Readiness Standards, and Next Generation Science standards.
