NU Celebrates Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year is an important festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar calendar in Asia. Celebrations traditionally run beginning one week before the first day of the new year to the second week of the first calendar month, depending on the country celebrating.
Mainland China, Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan are among the Asian countries that celebrate Lunar New Year.
The first day of the Lunar New Year in 2016 was Feb. 8, opening the Year of the Monkey, per Asian zodiac.
