NU Relay For Life Looking for Survivors & Caregivers

In Announcements, by , on March 29th, 2017

Are you a cancer survivor or caregiver? We would love for you to join us as our honorary guest to celebrate you, a friend or loved one as a survivor at the Second annual Relay For Life of Niagara University. Our event this year is Friday, April 7, at the Kiernan Recreation Center. Your strength and courage help the community see that cancer survivorship is real — that we are making progress in the battle against cancer.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a celebration of life dedicated to current and former cancer patients, their families and friends. Last year’s event raised over $18,000 and our goal this year is to reach $25,000 for the American Cancer Society, while raising awareness that cancer can and will be beaten.

At the Relay For Life of Niagara University, we want to honor you at the Opening Ceremony at 6 p.m., which will be followed by the survivor lap and cake reception. You are more than welcome to stay, enjoy the Relay and participate in the activities. We will also have a heartfelt luminaria ceremony, when hundreds of candles will be lit honoring those who have won, lost, or continue to fight their battle with cancer. We hope to provide the opportunity for EVERY survivor to take part in this year’s Relay For Life.

Please contact us if you can be a part of this great event as we raise awareness for cancer research by emailing Bill Newton, assistant director of campus activities, at wjn@niagara.edu or go to www.relayforlife.org/niagarauniversityny and select “Survivor Lap Only” to register for free as a survivor!
