NU Theatre For Young Audiences Presents ‘The Musical Adventures Of Flat Stanley’

In Upcoming Events, by , on July 27th, 2017

From July 20-29, Niagara University Theatre will continue its mission to present engaging, delightful theater for young audiences (TYA) productions with The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, presented by the Friends of Niagara University Theatre.

Based on the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, everyone’s favorite two-dimensional hero comes vividly to life, searching the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He’s stamped and mailed from Hollywood and France to Hawaii and beyond, all in an effort to become a three-dimensional boy once more!

Steven Braddock, director of Niagara University Theatre, said, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to present a free theatrical production for the whole family. Flat Stanley is a magical time, filled with infectious songs and nonstop adventure!”

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley will be directed by Braddock and Terri Filips Vaughan, associate professor, dance/choreographer, for Niagara University’s department of theatre and fine arts. Music direction is by Marnie Aldrow, costume design is by associate professor Maureen Stevens and scenic design is by associate professor David Dwyer.

Cast and crew members include NU theatre students Sarah Gadawski, Keelin Higgins (stage manager), Noah Laclair, Arianna Lasting, Sofia Matlasz, Heather Gervasi, Zoe Parker, Ronnie Stewart and Elijah Vazquez.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley will be performed at the Leary Theatre in the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre on the NU campus. The play will be presented at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, Friday, July 21, Saturday, July 22, and Friday, July 28. An afternoon production will be presented at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25.
