October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In Announcements, by , on October 12th, 2016

Domestic violence and abuse is a problem plaguing our society and we need to support efforts, both educational and criminal enforcement, to end this problem.

The campus safety office will be displaying purple lights, the color of domestic violence awareness, for the month of October. It is very appropriate that awareness of this serious problem is represented by the color purple, the color of our university.  In our Vincentian mission, the service to others, we must strive to serve to others to help end this problem.

If you are a victim or if you know a victim of domestic violence or abuse, help can be found to end this problem. It is not enough to sit by and watch believing it is better to mind your own business.  The safety of others IS your business and you might be the only lifeline to get yourself or your loved one help.

Please use these local resources to get help:
