Opening reception of two student-organized art exhibitions at CAM

The university community is invited to attend the opening reception of two student-organized art exhibitions at the Castellani Art Museum on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, from 3:30 to 6 p.m..  Twenty Shades of Grey was curated by students in Fall 2016’s Intro to Museum Studies class. “When you look at the exhibit you notice that, like art itself, it’s not just black and white. It’s the shades of grey in between that give you a connection to the work.” Students share their responses to a number of works on paper selected from the museum’s vast collection.  Also on view is the opening of a hall exhibition, One Step Forward, Two Steps Back, curated by an NU student in the Castellani Art Museum’s Fall 2016 Internship Program. This second exhibition focuses on ongoing issues of social injustice impacting people of color, as reflected in the Black Lives Matter movement.  Please join us for light refreshments and lively conversations with students about these two new exhibits.
