Panel Discussion on Slavery Legacy: Civic OBLIGATION in our Troubled Times

On Monday, October 22nd at 4:30pm in DePaul Hall room 126, the Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M. Institute for Civic Engagement, in partnership with the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area and the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Area, will be presenting a panel discussion entitled, Slavery’s Legacy: Civic Engagement OBLIGATION in our Troubled Times.

The panel will feature Dr. Bryan Walls, author of The Road That Led to Somewhere; the story of his great, great grandparents’ immigration to Canada by way of the Underground Railroad. Walls will be joined by other experts on the topic of the legacy of slavery, civic obligation, and what these things mean in the turbulent times we live in. The panel conversation will be facilitated by Dr. Paul Vermette from Niagara University’s College of Education.
