Planning for St. Vincent’s Court Renovation

In Announcements, by , on March 3rd, 2015

We are excited to announce progress on the long-planned renovation project that will see the transformation of St. Vincent’s Court (the roadway between Gallagher Center and Academic Complex) into a pedestrian way, as well as renewal of the area outside of the main entrance of the Gallagher Center.  More specifically, we intend to transform the roadway into a pedestrian area by blocking both ends of the road, from the traffic circle to Vincentian drive, and redesigning the space from the entrance of Gallagher to the road.  This footprint provides a great deal of flexible space for consideration.

The project planning team has secured the services of Wendel, a planning, architectural and engineering firm with significant relevant experience and familiarity with NU, to assist in our planning.  Representatives of the firm will be on campus to meet with the campus community this Friday, March 6, for two open sessions: 9:05 – 10 a.m. and 10:10 – 11:05 a.m. in the Gallagher Center multi-purpose room, and your involvement is valuable.  The goal of these meetings is to learn of the ways that we would reimagine this space as a vibrant programming, social, recreation, and relaxation space that successfully blends function and aesthetic impact.  The results will inform the project design which will be available at a later date for additional campus consideration.

So that we may plan effectively for the meetings, please RSVP to Claudia Fleckenstein at cgf@niagara.edu.
