Police Academy Students Receive Scholarships
Two students of the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy were recently presented with $500 scholarships from the Judges and Police Executives Conference of Niagara County Inc.
Jessica M. Saraceno, of North Tonawanda, and Jesse A. Williams, of Lockport, received awards from Niagara County Undersheriff Michael J. Filicetti on Tuesday afternoon at Niagara University, where the NCLEA is headquartered.
Saraceno and Williams are pre-employment candidates enrolled in the 66th police academy class, which commenced training Sept. 5. To be considered for the scholarship, students must also demonstrate community involvement, extracurricular activity, consistent academic achievement and leadership potential.
