Prayers Requested for Barbara W. Keller

Barbara W. Keller, former professor of psychology, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Staten Island, NY on November 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Christian J. and Edith A. (Auchenpaugh) Wernlund.

Mrs. Keller moved to Niagara Falls with her family in the 1930’s. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School, Russell Sage College and received her Master’s Degree from Canisius College and her Doctorate from the University of Buffalo. Mrs. Keller was a Psychology Professor at Niagara University for over twenty years, before retiring in 1991. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Mrs. Keller is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wallace P. Keller; one son, John C. Keller; three daughters, Donna (John) Varnedoe, Sharon K. Pirinelli and Jennifer L. Keller; seven grandchildren, David, Jeffrey, Gregory (Lisa) and Alyssa Pirinelli, Joseph (Felisha), Thomas (Susan) deBlaquiere and Michelle Langaker; seven great-grandchildren, Riley, William, Ava, Bella, Livvy, Tessa and Naomi. Also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roger F. Wernlund and Virginia D. May.

A private celebration of her life will be held by family members. Arrangements were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Sanborn, NY.
