In Announcements, by , on March 16th, 2017

Tuesday, March 21, 2017
7 p.m., Dunleavy Hall, Room 127

The lecture is co-sponsored by the Niagara University department of history and the Niagara Polish Cultural and Historical Society.

Przemyśl is a small Polish city along the Ukraine border, and its rich multicultural traditions were disrupted by the transformative effects of World War I and World War II. Dr. Andrew Wise, professor of history at Daemen College, will discuss how various peoples coexisted in the early 20th century as a background to the situation today. He will also share how students, scholars, philanthropists, and community activists have worked together since 2013 to map the extant Jewish cemetery in Przemyśl.
