Recent article in the “Journal of Catholic Education” dedicated in memory to the Reverend Dr. Stephen J. Denig, C.M.

A research article titled, “Catholic School Principal’s Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Practices During Times of Change and Uncertainty: A North American Analysis” was published in The Journal of Catholic Education, Volume 20, Issue 1, Article 10; October 2016 (see attached Pdf copy). This article is dedicated in memory to Reverend Dr. Stephen J. Denig who was instrumental in developing the research design used in this international study and provided guidance to the research team members as the study evolved. Father Denig worked intensively throughout his career to promote research among our Niagara University faculty and students. The authors of the article: Dr. Walter S. Polka of Niagara University, Dr. Peter R. Litchka of Loyola University in Maryland, Rosina Mete, doctoral student at Niagara University, and Reverend Dr. Augustine M. Ayaga, a 2015 Niagara PhD graduate stated, “We miss Father Denig but know that he is still providing research guidance to us all!” Father Denig passed away on May 22, 2013.

The Journal of Catholic Education is a refereed, open access, online journal that promotes and disseminates scholarship about the purposes, practices, and issues in Catholic education at all levels. The  journal represents Catholic colleges and universities, Catholic education leaders, and scholars from a variety of disciplines who are collectively committed to contributing research and encouraging best practice in Catholic elementary, secondary, and higher education by advancing the field of Catholic educational research.

The Governing Board of The Journal of Catholic Education consists of representatives from the following Catholic Institutions of Higher Education: Boston College, Catholic University of America, Creighton University, DePaul University, Fordham University, Loyola Marymount University, Loyola University Chicago, Marquette University, Marywood University, Seton Hall University, St. Catharine College, Saint Louis University, University of Dayton, University of Notre Dame, University of San Francisco, and Villanova University.
