Niagara University is hosting the Red Flag Campaign and a domestic violence awareness event on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at the Castellani Art Museum (with a brief welcome reception to be held at 5:30pm). The Red Flag Campaign, a dating violence awareness initiative used on college campuses all over the country, will be taking place at Niagara University in the days leading up to the main event. The domestic violence awareness event will feature over 80 pieces of domestic violence survivor artwork for individuals to view that night. Niagara University is collaborating with several local victim service agencies in Niagara County, including the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, Pinnacle Community Services, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Victim Assistance Unit, New York State Police, and the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier. Everyone is welcome to attend. Admission to the event is $1 for students and $5 for non-students, and all funds raised will be donated to the Passage House Domestic Violence Services, a program of Pinnacle Community Services.
