The Ostapenko Center is promoting voter registration in various forums around Erie and Niagara counties on Wednesday, September 26th. The Ostapenko Center and Niagara University senior social work students will collaborate with key stakeholders in the community to leverage change in voting rates. The voter registration campaign is targeting three groups of individuals: Niagara University students, young people who are eligible to vote, and individuals who have had contact with the criminal justice system. NU students will help those registering find their polling location, who their candidates for election are, and will also submit their registration forms.
This project is intended to provide equitable resources to the community, break down foreseen barriers, and get the community out to vote! Niagara University students can register on Wednesday, September 26th from 12:30-2:30 pm in the Lower Level Gallagher Center as well as the NU Library. We encourage all who are not registered to come out and register to vote. Let your voice be heard! For more information, please contact the Social Work Department: (716) 286-8520.
