Sandal Falls: A BOLD Project

In Announcements, by , on September 14th, 2015

Join us on the lawn between Dunleavy Hall and O’Shea Hall on Sept. 25 to assist with Sandal Falls: A BOLD Project. Sandal Falls is a student-led initiative, in which approximately 300,000 pairs of gently-used sandals are collected from the Cave of the Winds tourist attraction in Niagara Falls, NY, each year. Volunteers then assist with sorting, pairing and sanitizing these sturdy, waterproof sandals. Once this process is complete, the sandals are distributed to areas in need of footwear locally, nationally and globally. For more information about this project and/or volunteer opportunity, contact Brittany DePietro at bdepietro@niagara.edu.

The Sandal Falls project is a part of Niagara University’s Afternoon of Service during Vincentian Heritage week, taking place on Friday, Sept. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m.  Look for additional “Afternoon of Service” volunteer opportunities in future issues of the Daily Post.
