Senate Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction
The State Senate task force on heroin and opioid addiction will hold a public forum at 4:30 p.m. May 7 at Niagara University, one of four events the panel is conducting around the state to examine the issue of increasing numbers of deaths from heroin and other opiates.
State Sen. Robert G. Ortt is one of the three co-chairmen of the task force. He is chairman of the Senate Mental Health Committee and said the purpose of the session is to gather ideas that could be incorporated in future legislation on the topic.
The forum, scheduled to last 90 minutes, will be held in the Castellani Art Museum.
