Rock the Block – be part of the revitalization of Niagara Falls
NU’s Levesque Institute for Civic Engagement is working with 25 community partners and residents to revitalize housing in the South End of Niagara Falls. The three year project focuses on removing blight and bringing curb appeal to the neighborhood by assisting residents with minor repairs, landscaping, and energy upgrades.
The first year project is focusing on 4th to 7th Streets from Pine Avenue to Niagara Street. This neighborhood sits in the middle of the South End Business District which has experienced over $45 million dollars in economic development over the past three years with another $40 million dollars committed over the next year. Housing is a big part of the revitalization of Niagara Falls.
Over the next three years, NU is working with other large employers in the community to offer a housing incentive program to recruit first time and interested homeowners to invest in new or rehabilitated housing in this area. Attached is a schedule of events for the housing initiative and a volunteer sign up card. Put a team together and be part of an exciting time in our community!!!!
