Study Abroad in Ghana: July 2019

Participants will support an identified underdeveloped school in Ada, Ghana by creating community activities and connecting learning to meeting essential needs.  Students will explore Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle, as well as embark on many adventures from the Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, a crocodile sanctuary, a Coconut Oil processing demo, a boat ride, and a tour of the Ada Salt Mine.

July 1-July 9, 2019
This trip is part of a 3 credit course, EDU 215: Special Topics: Culturally Responsive Service Learning, which has a CD designation. This interdisciplinary course will provide students with a forum for critical reflection on community-driven service, intercultural experiences, and critical global engagement.
