Tuesday, Feb. 9, kicks off the semester with the Classic 1976 classic epic, “The Message.” Starring Anthony Quinn, the film tells the story of the birth of Islam and its popularity was a global phenomenon
The Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Minor Program is continuing our film series this semester. Again, we invite students, faculty and everyone from the University Community to join us on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in Dunleavy 127. (See attached calendar for dates and film descriptions). We plan to give a few words of explanation to introduce the films and hold discussions afterwards as always, but especially this semester we are getting students and student groups involved whenever possible, so please get your students involved.
From documentaries to classic epics, we have selected a variety of films that give fascinating insight into various facets of Middle Eastern culture, religion, history, politics and art. We welcome integration of the films into any course curriculum, and our theater can hold a large audience. Please see the descriptions of the films to be presented in the attached flier and look for weekly reminders in the Daily Post. Please contact Mustafa Gokcek, Stefanie Wichhart or Amelia Gallagher for more information.
