Valerie Nolan Named Director Of Sponsored Programs And Foundation Relations

Please join us in welcoming Valerie C. Nolan, our new director of sponsored programs and foundation relations.

Working collaboratively with senior university administrators and faculty, Valerie will provide leadership and oversight of a comprehensive system for obtaining, managing and stewarding external grant support for institutional priorities and professorial research.

Valerie , over the course of her career, has secured in excess of $20 million in grants and in-kind contributions for clients from private foundations and federal, state and local governments.

Since February 2013, Valerie has worked as an independent consultant to charter schools and not-for-profit organizations, providing technical assistance and grant-writing services. She previously spent a decade as executive director of the Chameleon Community Schools Project Inc., a local not-for-profit charter school management organization.

Valerie serves on fundraising committees for several community organizations, including Preventionfocus, the None Like You/We Care Neighborhood Block Club Association and Seven Chances Inc. She also participates as a mentor in the school-based mentoring program for Enterprise Charter School.

Valerie possesses a bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

The Office of Sponsored Programs and Foundation Relations conducts prospect research, establishes and maintains relationships with funders, prepares new proposals and coordinates grants management activities at Niagara University, with specific emphasis given to government agencies and foundation/corporate funders.
