The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, Niagara University, Brock University, and Bridgewater State University present the third panel in the Voices Across the Border speaker series that focuses on the Canada-U.S. relationship. The event will be held online on March 3, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. The panel features Underground Railroad history scholars Saladin Allah (Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center) and Dann J. Broyld (University of Massachusetts–Lowell), who discuss the everyday heroes who helped Freedom Seekers find their way across the Niagara Frontier to a new life. Allah and Broyld will highlight some of the extraordinary innovations from the Underground Railroad system that emerged in the decades before the U.S. Civil War.
