Jason Jakubowski and Cathy Anderson will host a webinar for the NU community entitled 5 Ways to Facilitate & Encourage Black Student Success on Your Campus: Increase Retention, Recruitment, Engagement and Completion.

Please join us Tuesday, Feb. 7, in VIN 407, 2-3:30 p.m.

The more inclusive and equitable your campus is, the better your student recruitment, retention and engagement will be. Black students not only are a marginalized group on campus, but also have been impacted by a variety of stimuli, on and off campus, that you need to account for to ensure their success.

Join us as our expert presenters will address the challenges your black students face on a daily basis and offer strategies for how to help overcome them: perceived educational incompetence, racial profiling on and off campus, social media attacks and pervasive negative racial stereotyping are just a few of the hurdles they must overcome.

You’ll be able to build dialogue facilitation skills about the black student experience; strategize for making black students feel valued, safe and a sense of belonging; and provide support for black students while they attend and learn at your institution.
