World Labyrinth Day Walk at Castellani

In Announcements, by , on April 30th, 2019

On Saturday, May 4, 1:00 p.m., at the Castellani Art Museum there will be a facilitated labyrinth walk as part of World Labyrinth Day. All are invited to participate in this free event.

World Labyrinth Day is an annual global event sponsored by the Labyrinth Society. Individuals are invited to share in a symbolic walk for peace.

The labyrinth is an ancient archetype that has become a popular mindfulness path. The labyrinth spans cultures and faiths and dates back some four thousand years. The portable canvas labyrinth that will be at the Castellani is based on a medieval design.

Facilitating the walk will be Mitchell Alegre, who teaches in the College of Business and is a trained labyrinth facilitator. Finger labyrinths will also be available for those unable or preferring not to walk. Those choosing to walk the portable labyrinth are asked to wear socks when doing so to protect the canvas.

Alegre may be contacted about the Castellani walk at malegre@niagara.edu. For more details about World Labyrinth Day, go to https://labyrinthsociety.org/world-labyrinth-day.
