Writing in business and communications

This year is the 25th anniversary of the writing center at Niagara University. We’d like to celebrate by hosting discussions about writing in different disciplines beginning with business and communications. Dr. Shawn Daly, professor Chris Aquino and professor Carrie Isard will be present to discuss writing in their fields and answer questions. Any students and faculty interested in discussing writing are welcome to attend. The discussion will be held in the Dr. Rita N. Moretti Teachers’ Studio, 2nd floor of the library, on March 24. from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. You can come and stay or just drop by and share your views.

Potential questions that we will be discussing:

  • Who is my audience when I write in my field?
  • What are the expectations for writing in my field?
  • Why does writing matter in the business or communications fields?
  • What kinds and how much writing might I be expected to do in my field?

There will be future talks about writing both this spring and in the fall semester to celebrate writing at Niagara.
