NU Offering Emergency Preparedness Workshop For Scouts
The Border Community Special Emergency Response Volunteer Initiative for Community Empowerment of Niagara University is offering a free Emergency Preparedness Workshop for all Western New York Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
The free workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at NU, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The mission of Border Community SERVICE is to provide emergency preparedness training to citizens and to encourage their participation in opportunities that enhance regional emergency readiness.
All Western New York Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, ages 11 to 18 who have not attended a previous workshop at NU, are eligible for the workshop, which includes the educational materials required to attain the Girl Scout Emergency Preparedness Patch and the Boy Scout Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge (except for the practical exercise).
A complimentary lunch will be provided to all participants.
