Family Literacy Centers Presents Children’s Book Club
Niagara University’s Family Literacy Center is offering an Enrichment Book Club for local student in grades 3-8.
The free program takes place at NU from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on March 16, 23 and 30, and April 6 and 27. It offers fun, engaging and motivating reading experiences that pair literature with age-appropriate discussions and activities.
The children’s activities will be facilitated by certified teachers enrolled in NU’s advanced literacy instruction program.
Research confirms that student motivation is a key factor in successful reading. Book clubs can be an excellent venue for building excitement and friendship over good books. The small group setting will invite children into active learning and provide them with opportunities to speak, interact and exchange points of view.
