Father Maher Presents Turkey Trot Proceeds To Heart, Love & Soul
Chalk up another $1,600 for Heart, Love and Soul, thanks to the athletic acumen of Niagara University’s president, the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M.
Father Maher presented a check Wednesday afternoon to Sister Beth Brosmer, executive director of the Niagara Falls-based food pantry and dining room. The funds were generated in support of Father Maher’s participation in the 119th annual YMCA Turkey Trot in Buffalo on Thanksgiving.
The $1,600 matched the amount raised from the first-ever “Run Against Hunger” at Niagara University in April, an event instituted by Father Maher during the week of his presidential inauguration.
“Father Maher seems to be ‘trotting’ around Western New York to help many people,” said Sister Brosmer. “Heart and Soul is deeply grateful for his efforts to trot and help feed those in need. Keep trotting, Father!”
