Niagara University will soon be offering an undergraduate economics curriculum for students seeking to study the theory of business in the context of a broader liberal arts education.

The B.A. program in economics, beginning this fall, will qualify graduates for similar careers as the university’s existing B.S. program in economics, but with a different underlying skill set.

“The B.A. program, by its nature, will focus more on the liberal arts and place a stronger emphasis on performing academic research at the undergraduate level, which can serve as a valuable option for students considering continuing their education in graduate school,” said Dr. Daniel Tompkins, program director. “In an ever-changing world where technological advances change the environment in which we operate, a liberal arts degree that stresses critical thinking and quantitative methods can be of great value.”
