NUOP Summer Program Poster Presentations: Aug. 4 from 2-3:30 p.m.
The NUOP Summer Program would like to invite all members of the Niagara community to our annual poster presentations on Wednesday, August 4th from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Presentations will take place in the lobby of the Golisano Building, and will feature student-led discussions on the historical and literary contexts of several non-fiction books.
The texts that students have chosen are:
- Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, by Frederick Douglass
- An autobiography that depicts Douglass’ early life and his escape from slavery
- First They Killed My Father, by Loung Ung
- A harrowing account of the author’s life in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge
- Dear Zari, by Zarghuna Kargar
- A collection of stories from women in Afghanistan that became a popular BBC radio program
- Letters From the End of the World, by Toyofumi Ogura
- A vivid depiction of the aftermath of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima
