Golisano Center Nets Sustainability Award From Greater Buffalo Building Owners Association
Niagara University’s B. Thomas Golisano Center for Integrated Sciences was recently presented with the 2014 Sustainability Award from the Greater Buffalo Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA).
The presentation took place during the association’s annual awards luncheon on Sept. 17 at Acqua Restaurant in Buffalo. More than 80 BOMA members and colleagues attended to celebrate the outstanding performance of commercial real estate professionals and companies in eight categories.
The state-of-the-art, $33 million Golisano Center opened to Niagara University faculty and students at the beginning of the fall 2013 semester. Earlier this year, it earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification – Gold Rating from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
“The Golisano Center is another in the growing line of facilities in Western New York that put sustainability high on the list of design criteria,” noted Jennifer Aiple, BOMA executive director.
The BOMA awards represent both the companies that help grow the Buffalo region by developing or renovating commercial buildings, creating jobs and servicing their tenants, and also the individuals who excel in their jobs and contribute to the success of their companies.
